How to write a perfect Korean Government Scholarship Personal statement
As a KGSP scholar and a writer, I have had the opportunity to read and review many scholarship application essays and so I decided to share with my cherished readers the secret to writing a perfect personal statement for KGSP.
First and foremost, let it will be better we understand the essay components and why the need to write a perfect one. The KGSP personal essay is divided into four main parts. The parts are as shown below.
- Motivations with which you apply for this program
- Your education and work experience in relation to GKS
- Reason for studying in Korea
- Any other aspects of your background and interests which may help us to evaluate your aptitude and passion for graduate study or research.
Even though it is logically to just answer the above questions in chronological order when writing your personal essay, there is no rule guiding the order so far as the applicant covers all the above parts in important details and provides unique information compared. No two personal essays must ever be same. Applicants come from varying environment, culture and life experiences so it is expected that the personal statement as the name suggests is personal and unique to that applicant. Personal statement serves as a chance to prove yourself different from other applicants. Some applicants will write general personal statements by coping the essays they find online and pasting them. Mind you the reviewers know that trick and so it’s easy for them to spot copied personal statement and just ignore them.
For that reason I will encourage all applicants to write honest personal statement which are self tailored and show the in-depth knowledge of the applicant.
I will take my time to explain each component of the essay and so I decided to break my post into several sections. Enjoy reading
